That’s pretty neat considering you could do the same thing with the evolution of robotics.
These stunts are operated by photoelectric switches – when the coffin you are sitting in breaks the invisible light beam the stunt activates. (see http://notlmpresed.angelfire.com/stunt-operation.html for an explanation)

The gum wall wasn’t there this year. The scariest part, to me, is thinking how structurally unsound the whole thing is and those little coffin carts could break off the line. Yipes indeed.

Oh man, these old dark rides are the BEST. So much character. I loved them. There aren’t many left like this one anymore. Closest you get now is Haunted Mansion at Disney and Monster Plantation at Six Flags.

It reminded me strangely of the “house of horror” at Rocky Point, that I was terrified to go on when I was little. And yep! Same guy..

I miss Rocky Point.

We went to Disney World in May. The ride my husband was most excited about was the Haunted Mansion. We all loved it. I had gone as a child and it seems to me that it hadn’t changed in 30 years. It was still great!
